AIBlock 1.1.3: AI Overview choices.
AIBlock 1.1.3 adds three ways to display supported AI Overviews, with compact on-demand controls and clearer Settings. Install it from the Chrome Web Store or update your existing installation.
The update gives supported Google AI Overviews three display choices: Hide, Collapse / Show on demand, and Don't change AI Overviews. AI Mode remains independently controlled. Existing Overview choices are preserved on upgrade, and pausing protection does not reset the selected mode.
Collapse starts a supported Overview closed. A compact Show AI Overview button follows the results column and page theme. Reveal it when useful, then choose Hide AI Overview to close it again. The button supports click, Tab, Enter and Space. Don't change AI Overviews lets Google display them normally; it does not disable AIBlock's other protections.
This release also includes Search, cleanup, settings and keyboard-preservation fixes. Coverage remains selective and interface-dependent; the extension does not remove every AI feature or block AI network requests. Core protection stays free and local, with no new permissions. The same controls may not appear on every account, language or website rollout.
Read the three-mode guide and see real 1.1.3 Settings.
Changelog
What changed in 1.1.3
- Overview display modes: Hide, Collapse / Show on demand, and Don't change AI Overviews; AI Mode stays separate.
- Compact Collapse controls: Show/Hide controls follow the results column and page theme, without a stretched blank panel. Keyboard operation and ordinary results remain usable.
- Clearer Settings guide: Explains each mode, what stays unchanged, and the independent AI Mode control.
- Existing choices preserved: Legacy on/off choices migrate to Hide/Don't change; settings synchronize between extension pages and the selected mode survives pause/resume.
- Safer Search boundaries: Preserve ordinary results, People also ask and content that no longer qualifies for cleanup; configured Google hosts are checked exactly.
- Cleanup and reminder reliability: Protect editable content and ordinary controls; improve AI Pause focus/restoration and use at low viewport heights.
- Settings recovery: Validate saved settings and handle local storage errors without silently reporting success.
- No new permissions: Local-only processing, supported products and free core protections remain unchanged.
- Coverage stays selective: Available controls vary by account, language and rollout. AIBlock affects only supported interface elements; it does not disable the underlying AI services. If a control remains visible, it may not be supported in your current interface.
